Falling Out of Summer

I recently was blessed to watch a blue heron fishing in the coral blue light of a glacial lake sunrise. Most of the 'action' was waiting. I watched the bird as she transitioned her positions dramatically, all at a pace barely perceptible. Readying and then waiting, slowly transitioning between positions, and then waiting, until something rapidly arose in her as a full body clarity and commitment united to support the strike and kill.

So much waiting and positioning, but as a kind of readying for the precise timing. She is programmed for power, efficiency, and clarity in action. She holds a knowing of when to wait and when to strike. I find a message in this improvised dance of life and death. The simplicity and pure function of each movement, the necessity of waiting to be inside of the right "timing" in order to "perform life". I admire the patience and clarity of the heron. I am grateful for her teaching.

September Workshops with Ayelet Yekutiel

From September 16-22, I will have the great privilege of teaching with Ayelet Yekutiel. Ayelet is an excellent dancer, practitioner, and teacher of BMC (Body-Mind Centering™) and the Axis Syllabus©. In these workshops, we will be offering knowledge and practices for building body awareness and moving with greater ease. We'll be aligning with wonder as we inhabit our “tubular” nature. Nomadic College at Earthdance in October

I will be teaching for two weeks at the Nomadic College at Earthdance, joining with Frey Faust, Francesca Pedullà, and Claire Reid. This is a truly deep opportunity for immersion into the material of the Axis Syllabus© with several seasoned teachers, including its author/initiator (Frey).
