Happy New Year!

This new moon, new year, is a beautiful time for beginnings. As the year 2025 begins, I am thinking only about endings. Is it the end of American democracy? The end of peace? The end of my mothers life and my dearest friendship? I do not have confidence that everything is going to be okay. In fact, I am only confident that everything will end.

With so many endings, it is hard to feel hope, hard to know how to feel okay in the face of such uncertainty. Yet it is family, both chosen and actual, that lights my path. It is the love that we give to one another, the kindness and attention, that builds the world I want to live in. Even though love and loss are inseparable companions, and grief can feel like death, I choose to grieve and love, rather than be alone.

This year, I am looking forward to focusing on teaching and creative collaborations, namely:

  1. In January and February: Traveling and collaborating with artists in West Africa (TRACES Jan. 3rd-19th), Australia (with Nita Little), and Thailand (Feb 11th-25th).
  2. Teaching with Keith Terry and Evie Ladin at The Field Center April 10-13th: Rhythm, Harmony, Flow, Body Music + Axis Syllabus
  3. BAASE 2025: The Bay Area Axis Syllabus Exchange returns June 24-29th in Berkeley, CA
  4. A West Coast tour in August. Exact locations and dates TBD
  5. In September & October: Teaching at The Nomadic College
  6. Jogo de Cinturas at The Field Center November 6th-9th

Thank you for your support. I hope to see you this year to stay connected, and build this world together.
